Naomi Long, a member of the East Belfast DPP, said, “This is a very shocking and disturbing assault and I would like to extend my best wishes to the victim of this incident. It is all the more shocking when you consider that the attack took place in front of her children and in broad daylight along a walking and cycling route which is very popular with families.
“I would appeal to anyone who has any information about this appalling incident to contact the Police so that the person who carried out this assault can be prosecuted and taken off the streets as they are clearly a danger to others.”
