Alliance Councillor Neil Kelly has condemned what police have described as a sectarian assault on two youths in Antrim.
The youths were walking through the town centre in broad daylight when they were confronted by two older men.
Councillor Neil Kelly said: “I condemn this attack without reservation. Attacks like this have no place in our town and I would ask the public to fully assist the PSNI with their investigation.
“My thoughts are with the victims and their families as they recover from this ordeal.”
Alliance activist Sian O’Neill added: “All young people should be able to come into Antrim without being subjected to a physical assault of this nature.
“This must have been a horrific experience for the victims and one that no young person should have to go through.”
