Mr Kelly was speaking after a man was arrested at a residence in Central Park, where a number of cannabis plants and two further crossbows were also recovered.
Councillor Neil Kelly: “This incident could have been much worse, with people in the immediate vicinity at risk of injury until this man was apprehended.
“I want to praise the PSNI officers involved, whose effective work led to a quick and successful outcome.
“I would urge anyone with more information to come forward to the PSNI.”
