Stewart Dickson MLA said: “There can be no justification for this shooting. The people who carried out this heinous crime are a danger to the local community and should be condemned by all.
“I hope that this young man will make a full recovery from such a terrifying and traumatic ordeal.
“Those responsible must be brought to justice in the courts, so I would urge anybody with any information about this attack to contact the Police.”
