McAllister condemns North Belfast hate crime

Alliance Councillor Nuala McAllister has condemned the latest racially motivated hate crime in North Belfast.

A man and a woman were arrested after a number of windows at a house on Broom Street in the Woodvale area were smashed on Monday night.

Councillor Nuala McAllister said: “I am extremely worried to see hate-motivated crimes continuing in North Belfast and want to see an immediate end to this type of behaviour.

“Everyone has the right to live in peace and free from harm in their own homes and my thoughts are with the victims as the recover from their ordeal.

“The majority want Belfast to remain an open and welcoming city, free from these on-going attacks and I welcome the quick and effective police work that led to these arrests.”
