She was joined in her condemnation by Alliance Councillor Barney Fitzpatrick, after racist graffiti was discovered at the home of Mr Duddy for the third time in less than a year.
Councillor Yvonne Boyle said: “These attacks on George Duddy’s home are attacks against us all and our local democracy. I am horrified this has happened again and must condemn it.
“Elected representatives have been given a mandate by the electorate and must be allowed work under this mandate, without the fear of coming under attack for their political views.
“Northern Ireland will never truly move forward if we allow those intent on driving us back to the past to succeed. “
Councillor Barney Fitzpatrick added: “These on-going attacks are not reflective of the community as a whole and we must unite together, sending a strong message that they must stop immediately.
“I would urge anyone with information to contact the PSNI as soon as possible so that those responsible can be brought to justice.”
