The pills are suspected to be the cause of a number of drug-related deaths across Northern Ireland, with the Chief Medical Examiner saying urgent further testing is needed on them.
Alliance MLA for East Belfast, Chris Lyttle said: “I extend my sincere sympathies to families affected. It is essential these suspected pills are taken off the streets immediately.
“The Chief Medical Examiner has warned of the suspected dangers, stating further tests must take place to determine their toxicity. I would appeal for anyone with these pills in their possession to surrender them anonymously in the RAPID drug bins located across Belfast, including Connswater Shopping Centre in East Belfast.
“This is a stark reminder of the risks and dangers of drug use. Anyone who is concerned about their health should contact their out of hours GP immediately, or in an emergency attend A&E as soon as possible.”
