Webb disgusted at those who tied up and robbed elderly brother and sister

Alliance Mayor of Newtownabbey Cllr Billy Webb has expressed his disgust at the men who tied up and robbed an elderly brother and sister in their home on Saturday night in Abbeyville Gardens before robbing them of their pension and winter fuel poverty money. Colin Bell who is 72 and his sister Eileen, who is 81, suffered some minor injuries during the robbery.

Cllr Billy Webb said: “I am sickened and disgusted that people could do this to two people in the 70s and 80s. What kind of a person carries out such a vicious and callous attack against the elderly. The people responsible are nothing but ignorant thugs who have no respect for the well being of others.

“I hope that Colin and Eileen are able to get over what must have been an extremely traumatic and horrifying attack. I know the whole community is outraged at this attack.

“I would urge anybody with any information about this robbery to contact the police. These people need to be caught and brought to justice by the courts for this sickening crime.”
