Lyttle says shared vision on teacher training is way forward

Alliance Employment and Learning Spokesperson Chris Lyttle MLA has welcomed Minister Stephen Farry’s statement in the Assembly on teacher training and said it is crucial that we deliver shared services to make the most of our public money and to build a shared future.

Chris Lyttle MLA said: “This is a welcome statement that outlines the clear and positive vision that Alliance has on shared education. This is a complex issue and Stephen Farry has outlined the best way forward for teacher training in Northern Ireland.

“Reform on teacher training services is a key part of delivering the best value for the limited funds we have. Change is crucial to adapt for the future.

“Division across our society costs us £1billion annually and it is vital that we deliver shared education in order to tackle this issue.

“Alliance is unafraid of making bold decisions that will benefit Northern Ireland for the future. This is a statement of intent from Stephen Farry that demonstrates how Alliance is leading change and how we are delivering a shared future for everyone in our society.”
