Hendron shocked at armed robbery in East Belfast

Alliance Belfast councillor Maire Hendron has expressed her shock after two men, one armed with a knife, carried out a robbery from a shop on the Castlereagh Road on Monday night. They made off with a sum of money, no one was hurt in the robbery.

Cllr Maire Hendron said: “I am shocked and disgusted by this robbery. To threaten anybody with a knife is despicable crime.

“I hope the staff who were in the shop at the time are able to get over what must have been a traumatic experience.

“If anybody has any information about this robbery then I would urge them to contact the police.”
