Dickson discusses closure of whitehead Northern Bank branch with senior bank officials

East Antrim Alliance MLA Stewart Dickson today met with Rosamond Bennett, Director of Communications for Northern Bank, and Stephen Bloomfield, Regional General Manager for Northern Bank to discuss the impact on the local community of the bank’s decision to close their Whitehead branch.

Stewart Dickson MLA said “This decision will have a negative impact on the Whitehead community. The closure of the branch would be much less convenient for customers, who depend on the only bank in Whitehead, to conduct their transactions.

“I am very concerned about the absence of any consultation from the bank regarding the closure. The Bank made it clear that the decision was set in stone and could not be changed. The Bank insisted that customers would have to adapt to other means of banking including telephone and online. This is a very disappointing decision for the Whitehead community and I would urge Northern Bank customers in Whitehead to make their views known to the bank.”
