McNamee welcomes decision to improve facilities at Grampian Avenue and Linear Play Parks

Local Alliance Belfast Victoria Councillor Laura McNamee has welcomed the decision by the Belfast City Council Parks and Leisure Committee to improve the facilities at Grampian Avenue and Linear Play Parks. Cllr McNamee has lobbied over recent months for this action to be taken and has been in touch with local residents.

Cllr Laura McNamee said: “This is wonderful news that these play parks will get updated facilities. They are a vital resource for the local communities who frequently use them.

“I have been lobbying for several months for these two parks to be included in the list of playgrounds to be improved by the Council.

“There is a real sense of community spirit from those who have worked to get these play parks improved, I have even received messages from people willing to keep them tidy after the improvement work was carried out. They have even said that they would keep an eye on the parks to ensure they are not being misused.”
