The East Belfast MLA stated: “This is devastating news for those affected by the cuts. It is an extremely difficult time to be looking for new employment.
“The announcement will also hurt the economy in East Belfast. It will have a significant negative impact on local shops and other businesses.
“Bombardier is a large and versatile company and I would hope that it can withstand the effects of the economic downturn without further job losses.”
