45 graduates employed proves Academy Model a success – Farry

Alliance Minister Stephen Farry has again placed a focus on enhancing the skills of unemployed graduates, launching the fourth Alexander Mann Solutions Recruitment Academy.

The Employment and Learning Minister announced plans for 20 participants to take part in the latest project, providing them with the skills, knowledge and experience required to secure available opportunities with Alexander Mann Solutions – a leading provider of talent acquisition and management service.

The move follows 45 graduates gaining employment through previous academy models.

Stephen Farry MLA said: “This fourth Academy will build on the success of the previous three Academies, which saw a total of 45 of the Academy graduates secure employment with the company. I would encourage those graduates seeking employment to apply for this hugely successful Academy where they will be taught recruitment skills and candidate sourcing techniques.

“My Department’s Assured Skills initiative, which developed the Academy Model, continues to be an excellent example of pro-active government intervention to meet the skills needs of investing companies, whilst enhancing the skills of unemployed graduates, offering employment opportunities and contributing to the growth of our local economy.”

Offering an intensive six week training programme – leading to the opportunity to compete for a role with the company – the recruitment campaign will target Higher Diploma and Degree graduates from any discipline, with successful participants also gaining an industry-recognised qualification.

Applications to the Academy will close at 4pm on Monday, February 8, 2016 and the training programme for successful applicants will start on Monday, April 4, 2016. The training will be delivered jointly by the company and Belfast Metropolitan College.

Applications can now be submitted online at: https://ams.mindmill.co.uk/.
