Cllr Billy Webb said: “I am shocked by this shooting. It was a vicious and callous attack on two people in a residential area.
“I cannot comprehend the motivations behind such an attack. There can never be any justification for a crime like this.
“I hope both of the victims will be able to recover from their injuries.
“If anybody has any information about this shooting then I would urge them to contact the police.”
