Cllr Billy Webb said: “I am very pleased that the Minister and education authorities have acted quickly on this issue. They have put alternative arrangements in place to use spare facilities at Newtownabbey Community High School and plans are afoot to build a new school for Whitehouse Primary. As a governor of Newtownabbey Community High School, I know all the staff there will ensure that the primary school children are made very welcome and that facilities are ready for them when they move there in September.
“I am glad that it appears building work will start this year as we need this facility in place as soon as possible. The school is an important part of the community and people are still in shock at this despicable arson attack on it.”
