Alliance Mayor of Newtownabbey Cllr Billy Webb has condemned those responsible for a hoax alert at Sixmile Leisure Centre in Ballyclare on Sunday. A telephone warning stated that a bomb had been left near the building but nothing was found.
Cllr Billy Webb said: “The people responsible for this hoax have caused disruption and fear amongst local people and staff at the leisure centre.
“Hoax alerts waste valuable police time and resources and those behind them should be rightly prosecuted.
“If anybody has any information about this hoax alert then they must contact the police.”
