Watch scheme shows strength of feeling against school hoaxes

Lagan Valley Alliance MLA Trevor Lunn has said the fact that the Twinbrook community have set up a watch group to observe the High School shows the strength of feeling locally against hoax alerts that have taken place. There have been eight hoax bomb alerts on the school in recent weeks.

Trevor Lunn MLA stated: “This initiative shows the strength of feeling among the local community about these bomb alerts. The community cares very deeply about this issue and does not want their children to have their schooling disrupted. People are sick of these alerts and those who carry out these acts have no support.

“This school is an important part of the community and these incidents have a very negative impact on the people who live in the neighbourhood.

“People should provide any information they have to the police so they can deal with the issue.”
