Sheila McQuaid and Harry Hamilton, Alliance Party Upper Bann Representatives, both wish to convey their sincere sympathy to the family of L/Cpl Stephen McKee from 1st Battalion The Royal Irish Regiment who died in Afghanistan when his vehicle struck a roadside bomb yesterday. They said: “There is no doubt that the whole community in Banbridge will be deeply saddened by this terrible loss.” Cllr McQuaid remembers the young man from his time in Ballydown filling station as being “always so polite and helpful – his death is a deeply sad loss to the district.” ENDS
