Alliance MLA Trevor Lunn has said his thoughts and prayers are with the victims of a mass shooting in Las Vegas.
At least 50 people were killed and hundreds more injured at an open-air concert after a gunman opened fire from an adjacent hotel. The shooter then killed himself.
“My thoughts are with the loved ones of those killed, as well as the many injured in this horrific incident, and I extend my sympathy to them and anyone else affected” said Mr Lunn.
“This was nothing less than a supremely callous attack on innocent members of the public watching a concert and socialising. Already it is clear there has been a significant number of deaths and I pray that total does not rise any further.
“I also want to give my thanks to the emergency services, who likely prevented even further tragedy from occurring. Once again I offer my thoughts and prayers to the American people at this time of national tragedy.”
