‘Stone is sad relic of Northern Ireland’s sick past’ – McCarthy

Alliance Chief Whip Kieran McCarthy MLA has responded to the verdict at the Michael Stone trial, saying: “This man is a sad relic of Northern Ireland’s sick past. I am glad that justice has been done. I very am pleased that the courts have dismissed Michael Stone’s outlandish claims that he was taking part in performance art. His actions were extremely dangerous and I want to take this opportunity to again praise the Stormont security guards who thwarted him.

“Peaceful progress in Northern Ireland must never be derailed by anyone. People like Michael Stone and Dissident Republicans are nothing but thugs who are detested across the whole community.”
