Eileen Bell MLA, Alliance Party Deputy Leader and Spokesperson on Victims said:
“I have concerns about the new compensation tariff scheme, as I feel that the structure mightn’t always be to the advantage of victim. While I don’t think we could ever devise a scheme that would adequately compensate victims for loss, I do believe each claim should be looked at individually, with the circumstances of each person taken in to full account.”
“We’ve put our concerns to Des Browne, and will be writing to him about trying to rationalise the structures in this sensitive issue.”
