Alliance’s Tim Morrow has stepped down as Councillor on Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council.
Tim served as Councillor for Castlereagh East for 9 years, including a very successful year as Mayor during 2017/18.
Mr Morrow said: “It is with great sadness that I am stepping down from Council. I have had a very challenging, but very satisfying 9 years representing the people of Castlereagh East. My year as Mayor was a particular highlight, as I represented the Council and residents at several hundred events and meetings across the Country.
“For me, it is time for a new challenge as I plan to expand our family business at Streamvale Farm. I send my best wishes to Sharon Lowry, who has been selected to replace me. I know Sharon well and am confident she will serve the people to a high standard.”
Alliance Party Group Leader on Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council, Councillor Owen Gawith said: “Tim has been an exemplary Alliance Councillor. He respects and acknowledges the positions of others, while firmly holding his own views. He has been a voice of calm in the Council Chamber, bringing his unique wit and wisdom in his dealings with other Parties and Council staff. He will be missed by the whole Alliance team.”
