It states the principals want a guaranteed year on year increase to school budgets in line with inflation for at least the next five years, which is needed to “simply to maintain basic provision for the children in our schools”.
“The crisis in education is very real and becoming worse due to the impasse between the DUP and Sinn Fein, which has brought down the devolved institutions,” said Mr Lyttle.
“This reckless leadership is irresponsible and it is the children who are suffering. I understand there are financial challenges to be met, however, we need to prioritise education.
“As such, we should have a complete review of the entire system to ensure we are providing the best education for our children. It’s what the parents want, what schools are asking for and crucially, what is right for children.”
