Neeson welcomes further Belfast jobs boost and says trend must continue

Alliance Economy Spokesperson Seán Neeson MLA has welcomed news that US company, Wombat Financial Software are to create another77 jobs in Belfast as part of a 2 million pound investment scheme. He stated that following yesterday’s announcement that Fujitsu were to create 400 jobs locally we need to continue this trend of attracting high value employment investment to Northern Ireland. Wombat Financial Software, which provides software relating to the stock exchange and for financial institutions, set up in Belfast in 2005 and currently employ 45 people.

The East Antrim MLA stated: “It is great to have yet more good news on the jobs front. This announcement comes on the back of yesterday 400 job boost from Fujitsu for Londonderry and Belfast

“It is essential that we ensure that this positive investment trend continues locally. It is also vitally important that we continue to attract such high-skill and high-value employment to Northern Ireland.

“We have an excellent skills base here in the area of IT, and I would like to see us moving towards becoming a world leader in this field.

“The 77 new jobs that Wombat Financial Software are bringing to Belfast underline the hard work done by their current local workforce.”
