Neeson says that supporting entrepreneurship is key to economic recovery

Alliance Enterprise Spokesperson Sean Neeson MLA has said that more support for entrepreneurship here is vital to kickstart growth in our economy. His comments come following an Ulster Bank report showing that October saw the sharpest decline in business activity for three months.

Sean Neeson MLA said: “For Northern Ireland to kickstart growth here it’s essential that more support is provided by Invest NI and DETI for entrepreneurship and up-and-coming businesses here.

“We need to create more sustainable jobs that can be here to stay, as opposed focusing more on short-term opportunities.

“An important component of efforts to boost our economy must be the creation of a Green New Deal by government here. We need to be radical. We need to be ambitious and we need to deliver more private sector jobs that will last.

“Our construction sector has suffered very badly during these tough times and a Green New Deal and more support for small-to-medium sized enterprises here will help this sector greatly.”
