Seán Neeson MLA said: “This is a deeply worrying development for those Halifax workers who might be affected by this announcement. Coming as it does on the day that a report was published suggesting Northern Ireland could face a ‘double-dip’ recession this is even more alarming.
“I am disappointed that it appears some of the work carried out here may be moved elsewhere, as this will have a detrimental impact on our economy. Those affected are in my thoughts at this really tough time. I believe that the Stormont Executive must provide assistance in training for people and act to create new jobs through introducing a green new deal strategy.”
