Seán Neeson MLA said: “The Stormont Executive must create a green economy strategy to help us address the downturn.
“While this Ulster Bank report suggests that the level of job losses have fallen here, it is troubling that the Northern Ireland economy has not seen the same improvements as the UK as a whole did.
“This report points to the particularly tough time within the construction sector. The implementation of a sustainable economy strategy would help this industry greatly as we would seek to roll out a home insulation scheme which would help lower heating bills.
“Northern Ireland can be a leader in the green economy and a radical plan must be put in place to maximize the potential this region holds.”
