Neeson hails company expansion saying it boosts NI-USA relationship

Alliance Enterprise Spokesperson Séan Neeson MLA has strongly welcomed news that Northern Irish pharmaceuticals company Almac is investing £50 million in a new North America Headquarters. The new operation will be based in south-east Pensylvania and will create at least 262 new jobs.

The East Antrim Assembly Member said: “This announcement is good news because it further strengthens business links between Northern Ireland and the US. This stronger bond will hopefully in the longer term benefit local people with this closer relationship delivering more jobs here through investment from the US.

“Today’s news is testament to the good work done at Almac and its strong reputation in the pharmaceutical sphere worldwide.

“Obviously we would rather see more jobs being created in Northern Ireland; however, today’s news shows that local companies can compete in the global marketplace.”
