Neeson hails Carrickfergus project and says town has great potential

East Antrim Alliance MLA Seán Neeson has welcomed news of the masterplan project for Carrickfergus, announced by Social Development Minister Margaret Ritchie. He said that the town’s rich history means that there is great tourism potential for the area.

Seán Neeson MLA stated: “Carrickfergus is a place of massive potential. This masterplan can provide a great boost both to the town and the wider region as Carrickfergus has so much to offer both culturally and economically.

“Carrickfergus is a great town but we need make town centre more user-friendly. This project offers a great chance to do so.

“We need to use the rich history of Carrickfergus and consult widely with local residents and businesses so that these moves benefit all and help attract more tourists.”
