Sean Neeson MLA: “This is deeply worrying news which shows how badly Northern Ireland has been affected by the global economic downturn.
“My thoughts are with those who are feeling the worst effects of these tough economic times.
“We have seen some major firms making large redundancies in the last few months which have rocked local communities. News of large redundancies seems to be a distressingly regular occurrence here.
“The Executive must ensure that they work in a joined up manner to provide the necessary training and assistance for those made redundant so that they have adequate support and are well placed to return to work quickly.”
