Mulvenna shocked at arson attack in Glenarm

Alliance Larne Mayor Cllr Gerardine Mulvenna has described her shock after a family of five was rescued from their house when a tyre was set on fire against their property in Mark Street in Glenarm at 1am on Tuesday. The family is Polish and it is understood that they have been targeted before.

Cllr Gerardine Mulvenna said: “I am shocked that the lives of this family were put at risk by the mindless thugs behind this attack. This type of attack is completely unacceptable.

“My thoughts go out to this family at what must be a difficult time for them.

“This attack is not typical of the great community spirit of Glenarm. I know local people are as horrified as I am by this attack.

“If anybody has any information about this attack then I would urge them to contact the police.”
