The announcement was made today by Alliance Employment and Learning Minister Dr Stephen Farry.
Commenting on the announcement, Councillor Andrew Muir said: “This is fantastic news for Bangor and the whole North Down area and I want to praise by Party colleague Dr Stephen Farry for this announcement today, proving his continued commitment to the continued development of the Further Education (FE) sector infrastructure.
“Thanks to his Employment and Learning department and SERC North Down is gaining a vital new space to improve skills, with the option of community usage of this theatre-style venue.
“The Performing Arts and Technology Innovation Centre (PATIC) will help to build a creative, innovative, skills rich Borough which retains and attracts talent. I look forward to working with SERC to help realise the full potential of this fantastic investment for everyone.
