Paul finished in 14th overall place with a time of 2 hours 17 minutes 10 seconds. This was the second best time by a British Isles athlete, behind Scotland’s Derek Hawkins (2.16.51).
Councillor Andrew Muir said: “Race after race Paul continues to success and bring pride to Holywood. To complete the Marathon in a blistering speed of 2hrs 17mins is to be admired and celebrated.
“Paul’s achievement is even more amazing when you consider that the race was his second ever attempt at the distance. I wish him every success in the future.”
