Snow fell across many parts of Northern Ireland overnight, with a yellow weather warning for snow and ice in place until 6pm on Saturday. A number of schools are closed as a result, while disruption remains in place on a number of roads.
“While travelling to work this morning, I noticed what appeared to be a serious accident involving a car having left the road and ending up on its side,” said Councillor Campbell.
“I hope no-one was injured in the incident but I suspect it was a scene repeated throughout Northern Ireland after the snowfall and appearance of wintry conditions.
“With weather warnings remaining in place, motorists should leave extra time for their journeys and take the utmost caution while out and about.”
