McNamee welcomes extra Metro bus services for East Belfast

Alliance East Belfast Councillor Laura McNamee has welcomed the announcement by Translink that a number of routes in East Belfast will be getting more frequent services. The 18 and 19 services will now take place every 20 minutes, instead of the current frequency of every 30 minutes. The 27 and 28 services will be retimed to offer better connections. The new timetable will take effect from 1^st September 2014.

Cllr Laura McNamee said: “I am very pleased that Translink have listened to the comments from local residents and improved the frequency of the services in East Belfast.

“My Alliance colleagues and I have been lobbying for this to happen following surveys that Alliance has carried out in the area.

“These extra services will be welcomed in particular by the elderly residents who rely on the Metro to get about, and a more frequent service will be of great benefit to them.”
