Alliance Councillor Emmet McDonough Brown has welcomed the launch of Northern Ireland’s first Residents’ Parking Scheme, which went live in South Belfast today.
A supporter of the scheme, the South Belfast Councillor said it was hopefully the start of move to come, helping local residents park with ease close to their homes.
Emmet McDonough Brown said: “I’m delighted to see this scheme get up and running and must praise the hard work and dedication of all involved in making this happen.
“With 236 parking bays split between residents’ parking and pay and display, I would urge everyone to take the time to familiarise themselves with the new system and respect the new rules.
“This is also an example of what can be achieved when people work together to achieve something that will benefit the whole community.”
