The Councillor for South Belfast – who has been supporting the project from its inception – said the award was a ‘great achievement’ for the local people who have worked hard to create a unique and beautiful space.
“I’m delighted that Wildflower Alley has been honoured as one of the UK’s best community gardens – it is really well deserved.
“This award is a testament to the hard work and hours that local people have put in to making Wildflower Alley a tremendous success. Their vision and dedication has turned a previously derelict space into a fantastic community resource.
“I’ve enjoyed working with local residents to create this unique space that is open to everyone in South Belfast and hope to see its success replicated in other parts of our great city.”
