Kieran McCarthy MLA said: “People have massive concerns about their pensions and what might happen in relation to them in the future. We need to ensure that pensions are sustainable, fair and reflect the needs of people in our modern society.
“When people have worked hard all their lives and contributed to society through taxes, National Insurance and the work they have done, the least they should expect is to be able to live free from financial worries when they retire.
“This is a really important event and we are expecting a very good turnout at Stormont. It’s essential that people get their chance to have their say over an issue that will greatly affect them and their standard of living.
“We have to make sure that all politicians in Northern Ireland are speaking with one voice to try and get best deal for older people in terms of both pensions and services.”
