Kieran McCarthy MLA said: “I am disgusted that these dissidents have yet again endangered the lives of other people. I am only glad that no one was injured in this bomb.
“The overwhelming majority of people are opposed to the actions of these mindless thugs, when will they get the message that they will not achieve anything by using violence. They must stop their campaign of bombings and shootings.
“These dissidents may say that they are fighting for a cause but all they are doing is bringing death, injury and disruption to our streets.
“If anybody has any information about this car bomb then they should contact the police.”
