McCarthy backs World AIDS Day initiative

Alliance Health Spokesperson Kieran McCarthy MLA has given his backing to the campaign for Zero Discrimination against people living with HIV. Today is World AIDS Day and this year it is about ‘Getting to Zero’ – zero new HIV infections, zero discrimination and zero AIDS related deaths.

Kieran McCarthy MLA said: “Discrimination is a disgrace and must be eradicated. We need a shared society with respect and equality for everyone.

“World AIDS day is a very important day in the calendar and it has a very significant role in relation to awareness raising. World AIDS Day is an extremely welcome and very useful initiative.

“The HIV Support Centre does excellent work and I want to praise the centre for the brilliant service that it delivers.”
