Kieran McCarthy MLA said: “To even say I am disgusted at the individuals involved would be too weak a description of how I feel about them. This alert is the latest in a very sinister trend. If this alert turns out to be a bomb of this size it might point to the determination of dissidents to cause disruption and fear.
“The public needs to be vigilant for suspicious objects and report anything to the police. The police require the public’s help to put an end to the threat posed by evil elements.
“There can be no return to violence and fear and everyone needs to stand up for peace by working with police to catch individuals involved in terrorism.”
