McCarthy anger at ambulance cut plan

Alliance Party Health Spokesperson Kieran McCarthy MLA has expressed anger at plans which could see ambulance hours cut by 70,000 hours.

Kieran McCarthy MLA said: “I am deeply angry at these proposals. Our frontline health service needs to be supported and enhanced, not cut.

“The Stormont Executive needs to prove it is delivering for local people, and news like this will shake the little confidence people have in the Executive to the core.

“Ambulance cover is one of the most important aspects of public provision in our society. There must be other sectors in which efficiencies can be made that won’t have such a detrimental impact on local people.

“People will rightly be outraged at these proposals. It is expected that rural areas in the West could suffer most from these plans and I will strongly opposed them.”
