The local Councillor was speaking after the victim Ashan Parhiar said he did not feel safe living in the area anymore, after his car was attacked and the front window of his house was smashed.
Councillor Nuala McAllister said: “The growing number of hate crime attacks in North Belfast is extremely worrying and my thoughts are with this latest victim.
“Everyone has the right to live free from harm and to feel safe in their own home, so it is doubling upsetting to hear Mr Parhiar is considering leaving the Belfast area after what has happened.
“Those behind this attack do not speak for the majority in the area who want Belfast to remain an open and welcoming city, free from these on-going attacks.”
