McAllister appalled by North Belfast homophobic attack

Alliance North Belfast Councillor Nuala McAllister has condemned those behind a homophobic attack on a house on Cosgrave Heights in North Belfast. The home of Paul Finlay-Dickson, whose partner died in January from cancer, has been attacked several times over the past two years. Windows were smashed and graffiti was daubed on the walls.

Cllr Nuala McAllister said: “I am disgusted by those responsible for this homophobic attack. There is no place in our society for this appalling crime.

“No one deserves to be the victim of such a sustained series of attacks. I would like to send Mr Finlay-Dickson my support. The attacks on his home must stop now.

“This incident shows the need for the First and deputy First Ministers to finally the publish the much delayed Sexual Orientation Strategy to prevent these sorts of hate crimes.

“Whoever is responsible for the attacks on Mr Finlay-Dickson’s home must be urgently apprehended by the Police to face justice in the courts, so I would urge anybody with any information to contact the PSNI or Crimestoppers.”
