Lyttle welcomes training allowance for young people

Alliance Employment and Learning spokesperson Chris Lyttle MLA has welcomed the new training allowance scheme for young people not in education, employment or learning (NEETs) on programmes funded by the European Social Fund. This new scheme is aimed at addressing Educational Maintenance Allowance access issues.

Chris Lyttle MLA said: “I think everybody can agree that we must urgently help our people to access education, training and employment opportunities. This is of long term significance to both individuals and our economy.

“I am glad that the Employment and Learning Minister is rightly targeting this issue and I look forward to reviewing positive outcomes as a result of this investment in our young people”
