Chris Lyttle MLA said: “The issue of zero hours contracts has been of concern to many people, so I welcome the public consultation and research that has been launched by the Alliance Minister for Employment and Learning.
“It is important for public confidence in the use of zero hours contracts and sustainable economic development that we have appropriate regulation, which balances flexibility for companies and individuals with workers’ rights.
“This is another example of an Alliance Minister putting devolution into action in order to best meet the needs of workers and the economy in Northern Ireland. I would encourage members of the public and businesses to utilise this opportunity to contribute to an informed zero hours contracts policy in Northern Ireland.”
