Lyttle welcomes maiden flight of Bombardier’s CSeries aircraft

Alliance East Belfast MLA Chris Lyttle has welcomed the maiden flight of Bombardier’s CSeries aircraft which took place in Montreal, Canada. The wing section of the new CSeries aircraft is manufactured in Bombardier’s Belfast factory.

Chris Lyttle MLA said: “The maiden flight of Bombardier’s new CSeries aircraft is continuing proof of Belfast’s exceptional achievement in aviation. The contract for the CSeries has helped secure the future of the Belfast factory and was excellent news for the local and wider Northern Ireland economy.

“Bombardier is a key asset to our economy and this new aircraft has shown that we can compete on the global stage.

“I am sure that the maiden flight was a proud day for all staff at the company and I wholeheartedly congratulate them on this success.”
