Alliance Employment and Learning spokesperson, Chris Lyttle MLA, has welcomed the work by the Employment and Learning Minister, Stephen Farry MLA, on the review of teacher training infrastructure. The Minister made a statement to the Assembly on the review of teacher education infrastructure carried out by a panel of international experts. This report follows a study by Grant Thorton.

Chris Lyttle MLA said: “I was pleased that the Employment and Learning Minister was able to update the Assembly on his Department’s review of teacher training infrastructure. It shows his continued commitment to building a shared and sustainable system. It is vital that our teacher training is of the highest possible standard and is delivered in the most financially effective manner.

“The recommendations that have been given to the Minister present a number of options for the way forward for teacher training in Northern Ireland and I look forward to working with him as he considers the outcome of this report.

“This is an Alliance Minister who is delivering in Government and shows Alliance’s commitment to promoting a shared future.”
