Lyttle shocked at arson attack on Donegal Orange hall

Alliance Policing Board member Chris Lyttle MLA, has condemned those who set fire to an Orange hall in Convoy, Donegal at 4am on Friday morning. There was also an attempt to set fire to a Protestant Church.

Chris Lyttle MLA said: “This type of sectarian attack has no place in our society. There can be no justification for this attack. Those responsible are offering nothing to the community.

“Orange halls are used for a wide variety of events by a number of different groups. This was an attack on the local community and has destroyed a valuable asset for local people. I am deeply concerned that this attack is the latest in a series of incidents where Orange halls have been targeted.

“I would urge anybody with any information about this arson attack to contact the Gardai. Those responsible must face justice in the courts.”
